South Shore SAC wrap up their Master Angler 2023 Comp

1546

Many angling clubs are in the process of wrapping up their yearly league competitions at this time of year, and South Shore SAC had the final leg of their Master Angler at the weekend. The venue was Dodds Rock, and they were lucky to get a fine day sandwiched between storms Elin & Fergus.

A super day for fishing!

When the fishing started, it became apparent that the end sections of each zone were the places to be in as the anglers in those pegs quickly separated themselves from the rest of the field as Niall Carabini took first place with Declan Fogerty in second.

Fine east coast whiting

All retired to Jack Whites pub for the presentation of trophies and awards, where Santa himself put in an appearance to help out with proceedings. And ofter all the totting up over the year, Alby Allan was crowned  the Club Master Angler for 2023, pipping Des Farrelly into second. Aaron Willet won the Junior Master Angler and Paul Doyle won the Master Angler Shield, while Darius Griclus wone the Clubman of the Year award for his hard work in helping out the junior anglers over the year.

Santa makes an appearance.

There’s a full report on all proceedings on the South Shore SAC Facebook page, and we look forward to hearing of their angling exploits in 2024.
