Killybegs Mariners report…
With no league outing this weekend a few members on the club chat organised a longest flattie competition when the weather was good on a still calm autumn evening out.
Eight rods fished and the fish of the night was a lovely chunky bass for John Higgins although it was no use in the longest flattie comp it was nice to see a fine fish landed. 2nd prize of €30 for a 32cm flounder was won by Proinnseas Doherty and 1st prize of €50 with a 34cm flounder was won by Cormac Burke. Well done!
Species caught were flounder, bass, dog, pollack, coley and whiting.
Next Mariners league outing will take place as a daylight outing this Saturday November 11th on Streedagh Beach, Grange Co Sligo fishing 11.00am – 15.00pm. Everyone welcome to come along and enter the competition.
