Tough going for inaugural Crowenstown St Patrick’s weekend 2-Dayer

1476

A group of nine anglers fished the inaugural Crowenstown St Patrick’s Day 2-Day Festival over the long weekend. Fisheries staff had been busy making sure the venue was in ship-shape by installing angling stands and making sure the pegs were in perfect condition.

The format of the competition saw anglers restricted to using feeder on day one, while the second day was float only. Unfortunately, the anglers faced some tough weather conditions over the weekend, making for tricky fishing, and bags were not as full as they might have hoped, but they were suitably revived by the tea and sandwiches on offer at the end of proceedings.

And it was a female angler who fished the hardest over the two days, as Mary Tigwell showed her mettle by netting the heaviest bag on each day to finish as the overall winner.
