Rain doesn’t stop play for Limerick County Pike Anglers

They were sweating it out all week as the heavy rain forecast for the weekend looked like it might flush out plans for a day on the banks, but the committee members of the Limerick County Pike Angling Association managed to find a venue that was fishable for their latest outing last Sunday.

They were rewarded with a fine day on the bank, and the fishing wasn’t bad, with 35 fish landed for 110lb, including a first LCPAA pike for their newest member David.

All smiles for David, as he lands his first pike as an LCPAA member

Most of the fish on the day were smallish jacks, with the heaviest pike, which was caught by Mike O’Donoghue coming in at 9lb. That helped Mike to a 30lb+ bag, which was enough to see off the competition on the day, with Sam Brown finishing second on 23lb+.

It’s a club that’s all about getting out and enjoying the fresh air and camaraderie of going fishing, and they seem to manage to do that every time they get out.
