Our annual opening day is on the 1st February at Blackwater Salmon Fishery on the River Blackwater in Ireland and all are welcome to bless the river, get in some casting practice, go fishing and meet some friends.
The cost is €25, food will be provided on the day and please book your place as we have limited space for this day.
Cadence Open Day at Careysville House & Fishery Saturday

Delphi Lodge & Fishery 2 Day Hosted Spring Fly Fishing Trip/Course 22-23 April 2024
Delphi Lodge is a delightful 1830’s country house, fishing lodge and hotel in one of the most spectacular settings in Connemara Ireland. It offers charming accommodation, glorious scenery great food and total tranquillity.
We were visiting David McEvoy and Philip Counihan on Thursday and how beautiful the landscape looks with a sprinkling of snow on the mountains. I had never experienced Delphi and the area before dressed in winter white and the beauty will stay with us for a long time. We will host our Spring course at Delphi Lodge in April and this residential Fly Fishing course hosted by myself, Noel Fitzmaurice and the help of the Delphi team, includes three nights full board accommodation at the beautiful Delphi Lodge country house, and two full days fishing on the stunning river and loughs of the Delphi Fishery.
This course is designed for 6 people and will cater for all levels of ability from beginner to the advanced angler.

Careysville House & Fishery Courses/Hosted Trip with Glenda Powell September 8-11th (3 day)

This residential course, hosted by Glenda Powell will take place at Careysville House & Fishery on the River Blackwater Co Cork Ireland. This trip includes full board accommodation at the exclusive and historic Careysville Country House. Fishing and tuition will be available each day, each participant will have their own luxurious room and non-fishing friends are most welcome to join.
The course is designed for 6 people and will cater for all levels of ability from beginner to the advanced angler. This trip will be designed to suit each individual person. There will be fly casting workshops held throughout the course and we will also be fishing for the “King of Fish” on one of Europe’s most sought-after Atlantic Salmon Fishing locations. One to one tuition will also be provided. This trip will include techniques with the double handed rod including roll casting and all Spey casts.
Skagit, Switch, Scandi and Spey lines will be available, and the benefits of each will be taught throughout the course. We will also cover fishing sinking tips/T tips and big flies for high water conditions as well as summer salmon fishing techniques.
