Kevin, Alan and Colin travelled from Bristol last week for an angling holiday at Courtmacsherry. They were accompanied by Barry and Ben Healy and decided to target Common Skate in Courtmacsherry Bay on the 3rd July.
Skate to 195lb were caught
Sean, skipper of the Lady Louise, has had great success lately so was confident of landing a few. In the end 5 Common Skate were landed. The heaviest was estimated to weigh 195 lbs with a total length of 216cm.
Ben landed this 50lb skate on light gear
Ben Healy, 11 years old, landed a 50 lb common skate on a 15lb class rod – some achievement!
