Richie Ryan was fishing with client from Brazil on Saturday. Spying a flock of gulls working bait just outside the Harbour they were soon in place to make the most of the small shoal of bass the was working the bait from below…

“Whilst the gulls were not very active, it is always worth while covering this kind of activity. I thought it was a shoal of fish but certainly wasn’t expecting to catch Bass this early in the season. A follow by a small Bass to my fly brought great excitement on board. Eight  Bass were landed aboard Sea Hawk and quickly released after the necessary photo. This all happened in a short period of time. The shoal then disappeared.

Haim Omer from Brazil was thrilled with his bonus Bass bonanza. Great to see them reappear after the grim grey winter. The settled spell of weather we have had has obviously paid dividends.

Go fishing…
