Skipper John Fleming reports some great fishing at times over the last couple of weeks. Although the shark fishing has been hit-and-miss, there have been some good days with a number of porbeagles brought to the boat, some firsts and PBs for anglers, and plenty of craic.

A couple of shark trips were not possible due to weather offshore, particularly with the arrival of Storm Floris, but on the plus side the spurdog fishing was absolutely astounding for one group who had booked a shark trip. With the shark not playing ball, a move to spurdog ground for the last hour or two saw hectic action, John says they lost count of the spurs, with a good three quarters of the fish probably specimen size, if they hadn’t been too busy catching to measure them!

There has also been excellent mixed species fishing, with plenty of good pollack, coalies, wrasse and many more.
