Cobh SAC report on their 4th club Master Angler competition…
The club fished the 4th leg of the Master Angler Competition today. Nine anglers competed fishing from the Deora De charter boat, and the fishing area was east of Roches Point.
Due to the non availability of fresh mackarel, fishing proved to be very tough with low numbers of fish recorded.
Congratulations to Tomasz Kujawa, who won today, making it three wins in a row. In second place was Piotrek Nowakowki, and third was Mark Greenwood.
Species recorded were Conger, Bull Huss, Ballan Wrasse, Cuckoo Wrasse, Dogfish, Grey Gurnard, Pouting, and Poor Cod.
We would like to thank the anglers who made it a very enjoyable day out and also our skipper Jim Linehan.
Also fishing out of Cork Harbour at the weekend was Michael Crudge who had a lovely Wreck Fish or Stone Basse on a mackerel strip.
