For the third consecutive year, VDE Baggers hosted the Sławek Siembida Memorial, returning to the renowned River Erne to honour the memory of Sławek Siembida. Known for his love of catching hybrids, roach and bream on the Erne, the venue provided a fitting setting for the memorial event.
The competition attracted an impressive field of 65 anglers, who faced demanding conditions on a high and fast-flowing river. Despite the challenging pace of the water, several competitors produced standout performances.
Steve Lane secured first place from peg 5 on Round O Jetty with 13.320kg, while Pete Randle claimed second from peg 6 with 10.460kg. Close behind were Philip Hartin, Aaron Hutchman and Gary Radcliffe, all producing strong weights from the Cornagrade section.
The event not only celebrated Sławek’s passion for angling but also raised nearly £700 for charity, thanks to the strong support of everyone who attended.
