Andy Burnett reports on the Lanesborough International Coarse Angling Festival…
Well that is the Lanesboroughย International Coarse Angling Festival over for another year.ย This year’s festival was a great success, and the inclusion of Lough Boderg proved to be the right decision.

It was incredible to seeย the festival record weight being broken no fewer than 5 times over the weekend, with weights of 72lb, 79lb, 87lb, 88lb, and 100lb 8oz being recorded.
On to the results; our 2019 Champion is Mr Perry Fairclough. Perry used to fish Irish festivals many years ago and only returned to Ireland this year after not coming for several years. Perry was here with a group of his family and angling friends from the Uxbridge Rover’s Match Angling Club to fish the Lanesborough festival.

2nd place went to returning local lad Declan Kelly who now lives in London but is originally from Strokestown.
3rd place went to local angler Larry Parkes.

Thanks to all who fished and supported us, special thanks to our sponsors Bord Na Mona, Longford County Council, Inland Fisheries Ireland and Waterways Ireland . Without the support of our sponsors we would not be able to keep running these more and more popular festivals.
