The first ever World Championship for Kayak Fishing will take place in Valencia, Spain on 26–31 October, 2024.
Representing Ireland will be Walter Butler, Tomas Butler, Timothy O’Herlihy, Robert Wright, Patrick Gill, Denis O’Donovan and Joseph Stenning.
They face some stiff competition from nations like the USA, Portugal, Italy and the hosts, Spain, and they’ll be trying to capture some species wholly unfamiliar to the Irish angler, so the odds are stacked against them, but we wish them all the best on their journey – you just never know…
