Michael Murphy reports on the River Moy Catchment Angling, Week ending 14-09-2025
Heavy rainfall in the catchment had a big impact on water levels this week with levels at Ballylahan fluctuating greatly again, rising from 0.77 m on Sunday 7th September up to 1.45 m midweek and continuing in the same vein up to noon on Sunday 14th September. Rainfall amounts over the past seven days were well above average locally and nationally.
The weather for the week ending 21st September is promised to be generally unsettled with showers and longer spells of rain forecast for most days.
Ballina Salmon Anglers
Peter reports of twenty-six salmon caught for the week of which seven were released, mostly caught spinning with weights from 4 lbs up to 6 lbs.

Mike reports of four salmon caught for the week.

Kenneth reports of nine salmon caught for the week of which four were released mostly caught on the spinner with weights from 3 lbs up to 6 lbs.

Roy reports of fourteen salmon caught for the week, two of which were returned. Eight were caught on the prawn and six on the worm with the best weighing in at 12 lbs.

Granville reports of five salmon caught for the week of which two were released with the best weighing 5 lbs.

Harry reports of ten salmon caught for the week with seven of them coming from Rinnaney and three from Carrigeen.

Reports were received of three salmon caught in the Foxford town area for the week.
East Mayo Anglers Association
Kathleen reports of eight salmon caught for the week of which two were released. One sea trout of 1.5 lbs was also caught and subsequently released.
