The Killybegs Mariners are rarely off the water and when you are on the water a lot, sometimes a rarity turns up – like this week’s gilthead bream! Gilthead bream have become a fairly common catch for shore anglers along the south coast, but as you travel north, they become few and far between.

It was club member Ryan McGinley who managed to land this fine fish, which came in at 41cm to the tip of the tail, so well done to him on this new Killybegs Mariners club record!
