Eileen Carroll from the Macroom office reports that 6 salmon were landed for the week ending 28 July. Congratulations to 5 year old Lisa O’Sullivan who caught a 5lb salmon in Bakers Pool on worms.

The Coomhola River can be found just outside of Bantry on the main road to Kenmare in County Cork. Good runs of grilse are caught every season as well as a small run of sea trout during July and August. Methods used here are fly and spin and open season for salmon is from 17 March to 30 September.
