The three prestigous Irish Winter Shore Angling Festival titles (Individual, 2 Man Team and 4 Man Team) were up for grabs after three days of tough fishing and shortly after the number crunching began in Sean Ogs Hotel in Kilmuckridge this evening, the winners were revealed. Following a fantastic meal this evening in Sean Og’s the presentations were made to all of the the winners. This event is gaining more and more popularity each year and today eighty three anglers fished the event.
This years individual title went to Ashley Sampson from the UK who put in some great performances over the three days. In second place in the individual was Richard Yates also from the UK and third place went to well know Irish angler Alan Mulcahy.
In the two man team event, the top 3 positions remained the same as yesterday with Ashley Sampson and Yilmaz Samiloglu from the UK taking top honours beating Richard Yates and Saul Page also from the UK into second place. In third place were Irish duo James Ryan and Alan Mulcahy.
In the four man team event, the top honours went to UK anglers Ashley Sampson, Yilmaz Samiloglu, Gareth Griffiths and Ged Stevens who had improved from second place on day 2. Second place went to Dave Roe, James Ryan, Joe Byrne and Alan Mulcahy. Holding on to finish in third place were Gordon Thornes, Bill Lindfield, Saul Page and Richard Yates from the UK.
