Billy Downes of the Laune Salmon and Trout Anglers’ Association reports:
As of Monday 12th September the Laune is heading to 2m on the gauge – a bit on the high side but now running clear. It should be perfect for the next two weeks provided there is no more rain.
No news of salmon landed but some good fresh sea trout still taking salmon flies. (Stoats Tail) The best I heard of was 2.5lbs. There are fish to be seen at least over the past week, we live in hope that a few fresh ones might join them and that the ones that are there decide to ‘come out to play’.
Prospects: Provided the rain stops conditions will be ideal for remainder of season.
