Billy Thornton in our Ballina office tells us that the Moy recorded the best week of the season so far with 268 Salmon reported caught. This put the total figure so far at approx. 300 more salmon caught as the same period last year.
On the Ridge Pool Quentin Condo from Quebec Canada had a 12.25 lb. fish on fly, On the Weir pool Michael Anderson from Co. Louth on his first day salmon fishing had 2 salmon 1 of which he released, On the Cathedral beat Lars Friebertshaeuser from Germany had a 4.5 lb. fish also on fly.
Upstream of Ballina to Foxford all Fisheries reported fish. On Coolcronan Stephen Hoper NI. Had 2 fish on prawn. On the Foxford Fishery Terence O’Toole UK. Had a 12 lb. fish on bubble & fly. Foxford Salmon anglers reported a very good week with 48 salmon caught on the Rinanney fishery.
Upstream of Foxford good catches were reported from Foxford salmon angler, Cloongee and East Mayo.
