Having decided on a family day out Peadar O’Brien fished recently with his wife Maria in the Monaghan area and the couple got some nice pike for their troubles.
The weather was changeable on the day but generally cold and overcast with squally showers. Despite this Peadar and Maria managed to get some nice pike on float fished dead baits and lures. Unfortunately, Maria lost a really good pike when fishing a dead bait sink and draw.
The fishing was far from comfortable but Peadar tried his best to keep the boat out of the wind and rain. Even with the bad weather Peadar and Maria had a very enjoyable day out.
