Brian Stevens, Slaney River Trusts reports for the week ended 13th April:
It would seem that most fish are still running through the lower beats with the great majority caught there very fresh and still carrying sea lice.
There are few resident showing in the pools downstream of Bunclody. While good number fish have been met up stream, including this circa 10lber caught by Denis O’ Donnell who had a day ticket on the Tullow Club water on Wednesday, the consensus is that there is not a great stock in the river. I am aware of 11 fish caught below Bunclody for the week including another 20 pounder on Monday and another very good fish lost today.
