    River Argideen


    This river is Catch and Release only for the 2021 season. Angling Bye-law No. 982 of 2020 prohibits the use of any fish hooks, other than single or double barbless hooks, and also prohibits the use of worms as bait in angling for all species of fish.

    This lovely river drains a catchment of 56 square miles and is primarily a Sea-Trout river but gets the occasional Salmon and Grilse during the Angling season.

    Sea trout

    Fair to good runs of fish depending on water levels on this small to medium sized river. All legitimate angling methods allowed.

    Disabled angler access is available at Inchy Bridge.

    Season – Salmon, 15th February to 30th September.
    Sea-Trout, 15th February to 12th October.
