This is a medium-sized river that drains a catchment of 117 square miles. It boasts good runs of spring salmon and sea trout, with fish being caught as early as March. Its grilse run begins in June and continues into late July.

Night fishing: For safety and insurance purposes, it is not available to visitors on the River Ilen Anglers Club Water
