On Monday I had an English client out who amazingly opted to tackle the challenge of the Cusher on its bones as opposed to the parent River Bann. While both of us spent most of the day on our knees and crawling it was both rewarding and educational with Martin returning near on forty fish for his day to a variety of methods.
While it couldn’t be described as a flood it certainly put a smile on my face as the river went up over a foot on Tuesday . It was fishable by Wednesday 19th but still carrying a little too much colour. Yesterday evening the water was holding a good height and clear while the trout fed on smuts in the flat water. The black fly are just around the corner hopefully and with the water in fine fettle the fishing should be excellent over the next few weeks.
