The 1st qualifier for the Rathcon Winter League Competition was held on Saturday the 22nd of October. The conditions were difficult with a strong south westerly wind and driving rain at times. 16 anglers fished the day and in total 46 fish were landed on a variety of lures and buzzers.
The biggest fish of the day was around 8lbs and landed by Hubert Smith from Dundalk.
The results of the competition were:
- 1st Paul Kay – 8 fish,
- 2nd Noel Shiels – 6 fish
- 3rd Paul Owens – 5 fish.
