report by Marlene Mc Laughlin

Warm weather has encouraged anglers to try dry flies once again.  David Speirs (Scotland) banked one using a klinkhammer while Shane Irwin, Gavin Moore and Ronan Green (Dungiven) banked four in total using the parachute fly and a daddy.  Maghera’s Pearse Doherty banked eight over two short days using the egg fly and the suspender buzzer.  Derry’s Paul Ford accompanied by his son Adrian banked eleven in total but only took the two home which weighed 4 lb 6 ozs which fell mainly to suspender buzzers.  Limavady’s Stephen Gurney banked three which took wee bloodworms.

We are taking group bookings for any angling club or corporate groups interested in a fun day.  Catering facilities are available in the adjacent Cashel Fishing Lodge.  Info and enquiries to Marlene at 17 Birren Road, Dungiven BT474SH, Tel: 02877742159,
