200lb+ catches of Bream and Hybrids reported on Lough Derg’s Northern shores around Portumna. The Shannon also fishing well for quality Roach, Bream, and Hybrids. A single grain of sweetcorn producing the better fish  The fishing can be patchy however with swims fishing well one day then going quiet the next. It is essential to keep the feed going in and heavily prebait prior to your session. Ian Chapman correspondent for the Anglers Mail had  a great days fishing on the Lough and his report and pictures will be published shortly.

Pat McDonnell picks up the story:

Few enough anglers about but some good bags were reported by visiting English anglers. Barry Smith  and friend from Birmingham had 200lbs of mainly Bream and Hybrids on a combination of maggots and worm on the upper Derg on Friday and went to Lough Grainny on Saturday and had 40lbs + of Roach and returned to Derg on Sunday and had 140lbs of Bream and some nice tench and perch. Their best Bream over the weekend was over 6lbs with Hybrids to 3lbs.
