Jean-pierre and son Nick from Belgium were on their second visit this year to Melview Lodge in Longford and what a great weeks fishing it was for them, Kevin said on the day they arrived they went and fished for Roach and prebaited it for the next day. The holiday for them started here by the end of the day they had a great catch of Roach and Hybrids estimated at around 50lb, after this they moved onto another venue and prebaited it. Well the rest of their they produced four catches of 100lb + of good Bream, Hybrids and Tench. Kevin said you get days like this but to have catches like this all week was great for the lads, they have been coming for a number of years now and are experienced when it comes to fishing Ireland so I’m sure we will be seeing them again soon. Well Done Lads.

John Highland and friend “The Bird Man” as he is known to his friends were up in Longford for their annual fishing trip staying with Kevin and Jane at Melview Lodge, Kevin said these guys just love to fish for pleasure and what a good weeks fishing they had. Fishing on prebaited swims they managed to produce some nice Bream, Hybrids, Roach and some lovely Tench. Feeder fished at 35 yrds produced the best results for them using a mixture of baits and cocktails.

Fishing in and the Longford area has been great over the last few weeks producing some great fish, Bream to 6lb and Tench to 5lb along with Roach and Hybrids. Prebaiting and feeder approach have produced some cracking results for the anglers. At the time of writing their is a very slight change in the weather but reports coming in suggest their are more catches of Bream and Tench to be had. Log on next week when see how another group of regular anglers from Melview Lodge get on.
