Contracts are set to be signed next month [Dec] for the long-awaited restoration of the iconic fisheries tower city footbridge.

It follows a meeting of the Coporate Policy Group today [Nov 12] where revised quotations for the footbridge and watchtower at Wolfe Tone bridge were discussed.

City Cllr Padraig Conneely says the project is now revised from its initial estimate of 160 thousand euro to 125.

35 thousand of this is to be provided by the city council while the remainder will be funded by Inland Fisheries…….
