A Co Antrim farmer today pleaded guilty and was fined £300 plus £25 court costs at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court.
Mr Richard Millar, of Drumfin Road, Ballymena, was convicted for making a polluting discharge to a waterway.
On 16 December 2011, a Water Quality Inspector, acting on behalf of the Northern Ireland Environment Agency, inspected a tributary of the River Clogh adjacent to the Doury Road, Ballymena, and observed fungal growth on the bed of the waterway. An agricultural odour was also detected from the water. Approximately 1.8 km of waterway was affected……
