STUDENTS FROM the transition year at the FCJ School in Bunclody abandoned the classroom last week to take a lesson on the bank of the River Slaney. The eleven students went to Clohamon for an open-air session with experts in the art of fly fishing from Inland Fisheries Ireland.

Rosbercon New Ross native John Flynn, resident of Cushenstown, and three of his IFI colleagues were in charge of the five-hour crash course in casting.
