Carrickmacross angling guide Peadar O’Brien reports that he and Richie McCahey were out pike fishing again in Co Monaghan recently.  The weather was cool as would be expected for the time of year but overnight temperatures had been way down on recent nights. The day was overcast and calm with only a light breeze.  The pike were active enough and several nice fish were taken on lures during the day. As usual there were a number of fish hooked and lost and the lads kept working at it all day changing lures, fishing different sizes and at different depths. They were rewarded with a great days fishing and a few very nice pike.
