The Rye Lake continues to provide decent Pike fishing for anglers willing to brave the cold. Both dead baiting and spinning appear to be equally successful. Water levels have dropped back to normal after recent floods however with heavy rain forecast overnight and tomorrow morning it might take until Sunday before water levels return to a more fishable state again as the lake undoubtedly fishes better when water clarity is good.

Current hotspots are downstream of the boathouse towards the Salmon Weir and opposite the Island where the water is deeper (although fishing at the Weir is out of bounds to anglers given the golf operations in this particular area). Anglers wishing to fish the lake can purchase a permit from hotel reception where they can also get a map of the fishery.
A Ghillie / Guide service is also available for fishing from boat on the lake – please contact me for more details on same.

Prices start at €25 for a 6 hour ticket and all fish must be returned.
