Fishing report for Lough na Leibe week ending Sunday 11/11/2012.
A week of cold and wet weather, well it is autumn, meant high water and low temperatures on Lough na Leibe. However in the true spirit of adventure a few club members took to the lough in search of a fish. Some of those in attendance were testing out new equipment purchased at an angling fair in Galway on Sat 10/11/12. Anglers taking to the water were Peter and Colm Walsh, Bernard McDermott, Francis Brady and Tommy Lynch and all recorded takes and at least one fish each. Not a bad result given the conditions. Details on successful fly patterns and techniques were very sketchy, mainly down to the fact that Francis, Bernard and Tommy are all due to take part in the Masters fly fishing competition to be held on Lough na Leibe on Sunday 25/11/12. No doubt secret flies and tactics were all used on the day with all being closely guarded until after the event. All three will be looking to win the masters title for differing reasons. In total 10 fish were reported for the week.
