01/03 The water level has dropped slightly to just under 0.7 metres on the gauge. No fish were reported on Thursday or Friday last week but on Saturday there were a good many rods out and three fish were reported. W. Rainey had a 7 lb. fish on worm from the Mill Pool, A. Whelan Mc Manus had an 8 lb. fish on Rapalla from the Washstones and M. Mc Evoy had a 7 lb. fish on prawn from the Money Hole. On Sunday J. Jones had a 9 lb. fish on devon minnow from the Ash Hole and on Monday morning T. Hennerby had a sea liced 10 lb. fish on a size 8 Cascade from just above the telegraph pole at Lennox’s.
There were some more fish reported since Monday
On Tuesday C. Fitzpatrick had a 7lbs fish on worm from the Turn Hole. On Wednesday D. Elliott had a 9.5lbs fish on fly from Briney’s Pool and A. Kendal had a 9lbs fish on prawn from the Old Sea Pool. Despite a good number of rods out today no fish had been reported at time of writing, with just one lost at the Eel Weir on spinner.
This afternoon turned noticeably colder and the forecast is for colder conditions with wintry showers for the weekend.
