LAUNE SALMON AND TROUT ANGLERS’ ASSOCIATION WATERS AND BEAT 3

Angling Report  17th September (Email to Laune Angling Report)

Laune Salmon and Trout Anglers’ Association waters and Beat 3.

As of Monday 17th September water now down to 1 foot 6 inches on the gauge at Johnston’s and running clear.

The past week much like the one before saw few fish from the Laune.

John Roulston’s fish of 11 lb. from Heffernan’s was the highlight of the week.  Noel Hickey Limerick had a couple of nice fresh grilse at most there were three fish a day reported.  There were a few nice a few sea trout caught also.  Despite this it will go down as a very poor September week on the Laune.

At this stage anglers are staying away from the river waiting for some change to happen – two weeks to go, we live in hope.

Permits for Laune Anglers during August and September cost only €35 per day.

Beat 3:The water level on Beat 3 is now well down a little below its optimum not a great chance of a fish at this level.

Anglers please note: A ‘One Day’ salmon permit for Beat 3 only costs €25 probably the best value in salmon fishing in the country with a good chance of a fish.
