Angling guide and casting instructor Eamonn Conway reports that water conditions are now perfect on the Fane and Castletown rivers in the North East. Eamonn caught and released a small red fish on the Castletown River in Dundalk last week and hit three fish while spinning on the Fane on Sunday 19th August. Eamonn hooked one of the fish  which unfortunately threw the hooks before being landed. Eamonn reports that all of the fish were decent sizable fish. Peter Begley from Dundalk had a nice fish just over 10lb off the Fane last week. As the Fane is a late river, things are sure to improve in the coming weeks.

If you fancy a days guided trout, pike or salmon fly-fishing, Eamonn can be contacted at [email protected]

Eamonn is also an APGAI-Ire casting instructor, so if you want to learn to fly fish or improve your casting technique why not drop him an email at the above address.
