Pat McDonnell reports:
Portumna :
Very few anglers about with the high water but any that have made the effort are having a hard time keeping up with their ground bait such is the power of the current. One Swiss angler got good fishing while jigging for perch off Stony Island reporting 15 fish . Seamus Molloy and his friend Jason Molloy from Terryglass, were fishing for trout out of Dromineer and caught a fine trout weighing 10.5lbs which was returned alive.

Little Brosna and Camcor River :
Anglers were reporting plenty of fish in the lower and mid reaches of the Little Brosna but the floods have adversely impacted on the fishing here with a lot of coloured water. Some fish have been reported with John Kirwan, Birr landing a 2.5lbs trout on a fly and Gavin Carroll, also Birr reporting a fish to 3.25lbs also on a fly.
Pallas Lake:
Plenty of anglers on Pallas despite the very high water and some nice fish reported, Noel Egan had five fish for two mornings fishing, best fish was 2.5 lbs, on a small duckfly, while John Donnellan had 1 fish for 1.5 lbs on a brown sedge
