Josie Mahon reports that the Dublin Angling Initiative (DAI) annual trout fishing competition took place on 30th October at the Angling For All Facility in Aughrim. The teams who participated were; Darndale (Sphere 17), Bonnybrook (Coolock), Priorswood (Coolock), Whitechurch (Ballyboden, Dublin 16), the APT project from Tymon (Tallaght, Dublin 24) and Jobstown (Dublin 24), and four teams from Mulhuddart Community Youth Project in Dublin 15.

Approximately 30 hard fighting rainbows were caught and released during the competition. There was a tie for first place with three teams catching 5 quality rainbow trout each. The winning teams were Darndale (Sphere 17), Jobstown (JAY Project) and Mulhuddart Community Youth Project (Team 3).

Presentation of the prizes took place in the Community Centre in Aughrim at which Des Chew thanked all the young people for attending, the youth workers, Derek Evans, Anglers View Media who filmed the event and all the sponsors. He congratulated all competitors who participated in the event.
