Cashel Trout Fishery report by Marlene McLaughlin
Pleasant weather conditions encouraged anglers to Cashel to have a relaxing time using small flies. Michael Anderson (Portaferry) used small muddlers to catch his two trout while Derry’s Maurice Whiteman used dries to bank an amazing twelve trout while Paul Ford and his son Adrian (Derry) caught one each in a couple of hours. Shane Irwin (Dungiven) did very well using the Montana banking himself three trout which he released. Christopher McKinley, Thomas Steele and Vincent Harkin (Gleneely, Donegal) bagged four for home weighing 6 lb 10 ozs and then went on to release eleven more with Vincent getting the majority of seven using a red ant and small lures and Zulus.
Well done to all!
