Trout season begins on March 1st across Westmeath.

TROUT SEASON. On March 1^st local and visiting anglers will venture out on some of our splendid lakes and rivers dotted across Westmeath. If you are planning to do a few hours on lakes and Rivers in the Shannon region you will need a current IFI permit for the likes of Owel, Ennell, Sheelin etc. This year Adult Permit rates are set at 40 Euro, Pensioner 20 Euro, and Junior Anglers 15 Euro.  An Adult one-day permit is 12 Euro, and if you are Holidays in the Shannon Region you can get a 21-day permit for 20 Euro.  Fishing Permits are available on line by contacting IFI at www.fishinginireland.info.  Or call into IFI Shannon Regional Office Tudenham Lodge any Morning Monday/ Friday phone contact details  +353 (0)44-9348769.
