Exciting 2012 Junior League as the Castleblaney lads show us how it's done!

Rossmore Coarse Angling Club report:
18/09/12: It was a cloudy and blustery morning at Drumsnat, and all the juniors still in contention for the title showed for the final event. The draw took place at 10:00 and the competitors went to their pegs and setup, everyone going for either whip or waggler tactics.
At the all in it had become reasonably calm and it looked like conditions were perfect, but both Daniel and Ethan struggled to catch for the first part of the match. Jason however was bagging up from the start on a 7m Whip while having to continually out manoeuvre a hungry pike that was resident in his swim. Daniel started catching after about 15 minutes, but it was patchy and it continued this way for him throughout the match. Ethan had to wait 30 minutes for his first fish, and then had a busy 90 minutes catching regularily, mostly small 2oz Roach, but he had a few larger fish too including a nice sized Hybrid. For the last hour it went quiet for everyone, with bites being few and far between which is unusal for the venue at this time of year. At the all out we suspected Jason had the match win, but we had to wait for the weigh in to see who had won the league title.
Daniel weighed in first with 3lb 15oz, Ethan next with 4lb 8oz and Jason with an excellent bag of 8lb 13oz to win the match.
We’ve had an exciting 2012 junior league, one of the closest we’ve ever had. The final league placings were as follows, with Ethan winning the 2012 title by 8 ounces:
1st Ethan: 12 pts – 15lb 15oz
2nd Daniel: 12 pts – 15lb 7oz
3rd Jason: 11 pts – 15lb 3oz
4th Callum: 6 pts – 6lb 15oz
5th Dillon: 3 pts – 3lb 0oz
So congratulations to Ethan, Jason and Daniel, the league trophy goes to Ethan for his consistant high finishes in matches, Jason takes two cups for two match wins and Daniel also picks up a cup for his match win. All three will also receive a 9.5m Pole, Seatbox and a few essential match fishing goodies at the Rossmore CAC Presentation night which will be held in October, date and venue to be confirmed.
