The sixth annual Lisnaskea Water Festival coarse fishing match took place over the weekend on the Rosslea Lakes of Lyons, Inver and Killyfole.

The event was again a 24 peg sell out with anglers enjoying excellent weather and fishing conditions, catches made up of mainly Roach and Skimmers on the Pole.

Thanks to the sponsorship From the Lisnaskea Festival and Fermanagh District Council, anglers were fishing for a total prize fund of £1,480.

Winner of day one was Tommy Dowd (Cavan) who caught 9.100kgs on Inver peg 13 mainly Roach on the pole.

Runner up was Junior angler James O Doherty (Enniskillen) with 6.740kgs also on Inver Lake.

Former winner of the event Gordon Williams (Florencecourt) was third on Killyfole with 6.550kgs.

Other section winners were Junior angler Jordan Hall (Lisnaskea) who won Lyons Lake with 4.550kgs, Andy Jackson (Irvinestown) who won the low numbers on Inver Lake with 4.900Kgs.

Day two saw improved weights in the bright calm conditions.

Individual winner was Nick Howell (Kilskeery) who caught the best weight of the weekend 10.820kgs on Inver high, runner up was Scotland International

Ewan Weed who won Killyfole Lake with 7.400kgs he included a surprise 18 Skimmers in his catch.

Third was Gordon Williams again drawn on Killyfole with a catch of 5.850kgs.

Other section winners were Paul Eyers (Tempo) 5.550kgs on Inver Low, with Jordan Hall again winning the section on Lyons lake with 3.850kgs.

The overall results were very close with less than three kilos separating the top eight anglers.

Tommy Dowd became the fifth angler to win the Albert Broomhead cup and the £250 first prize with a total of 12.950kgs, runner up was

Nick Howell 12.740kgs, Gordon Williams was third with 12.400kgs.

Fourth to seventh all had nine or ten kilo weights with grammes separating the places.
