Great fishing had at Oaklands Lake fishery in New Ross last week end with 13 anglers pulling an all nighter – Saturday July 27th they held  12 hours night fishing with proceeds going towards local junior angler Thomas Quinlan who is going to Wales to fish for Ireland in August.    1,400lbs of fish were caught. Top weight went to Ronan Minogue 176lbs and the biggest fish to Niall O’Beirne with 7lb 6oz.

Best of luck to Thomas Quinlan and all the team in Wales who we are sure will do us proud.

Fishing continues to be good at Oaklands. Great sport to be had with the carp on surface baits. Some lovely tench caught to 5lb.the picture below is Nicholas Quinn from Dublin on his first days fishing with his granddad.

Oaklands is a fishery that encourages a lot of new anglers.  Some splendid catches by young lads and lasses, great to see the enthusiasm.
