Adrian Browne reports that there was great fishing at Oaklands this weekend. On Saturday they had the start of their junior league. The juniors fished a 3 hour match and caught good numbers of carp, tench, rudd, skimmers and hybrids.

On Sunday Oaklands had their monthly open match. 26 anglers caught 628kg of fish the end pegs produced the top two weights.

Adrian also tell us that the first angler who catches a 12lb carp at the lake this year, which is registered with the Irish Specimen Fish Committee wins a permit for the year at the lake.
