English raider Mark Pollard (Shimano/Dynamite Baits) declared Lough Muckno to be:
‘Unquestionably the best match venue in Ireland’ after pocketing £1,500 victory spoils in the annual Muckno Mania festival.
Five days of fabulous feeder fishing on the County Monaghan venue saw the Bedfordshire-based professional angler chalk up a festival
record 102 Kg total. His closest rivals in the 25-entry event were Ireland’s Cathal Hughes (Daiwa Matchcraft) with 96.790 plus Ulstermen Rory
O’Neill (Lough Muckno CAC) on 90.960 and David Slater (Birmingham/Enniskillen) 89.230.
