Alic Murtagh from our Corlesmore office reports that forty anglers took part in an annual five day Belturbet Festival. Eighteen of the anglers were from the UK.  Three sections were fished on Killykeen, one section on Eonish and one section on Lower Derries.  Fishing proved to be excellent with plenty of Roach, Hybrids, Perch and Bream and a total weight of fish for the week was 2,350kg.  The winners were as follows:

  • 1st. Tony Kersley 94.990kg
  • 2nd. John Potters 90.870kg
  • 3rd. Dave Brettle 90.450kg
  • 4th. Nicky Harrison 87.900kg
  • 5th. Keith Murphy 84.540kg
  • 6th. Andy Jackson 83.970kg

 

A one day match took place on the river at Belturbet and 12 anglers fished it catching mainly Roach and some big Tench.  The following is a list of the winners:-
