Templemore and district anglers held a ‘fisheries awareness day’ lately on the Town Park Lake to promote fishing and get people of all ages involved in our great sport. The members gave their time teaching people how to fish properly.
It was a fantastic day where the parents who brought the kids had as much enjoyment as the kids themselves. The club distributed rods and reels to some of the kids present and they were thrilled to receive a lovely new rod and reel free. A huge thanks to the committee and the members who gave their time to promote the day. We hope to run more days like this in the near future. The club also had boat trips on the lake on Bank Holiday Monday to help out with the fundraising drive for Crumlin Children’s Hospital which was ran on the weekend of the festival event and raised much needed funds for such a worthy cause. Again, a massive thanks to the committee and members who gave of their time.
Please note that licence and permits can be got from Walsh’s shop Main Street Templemore, or from any committee member. Please check out our Facebook page for our up-coming events…..
