Angling effort has slowed down from last week and, as a consequence, catches have decreased accordingly. Eddy Corry, Clare, had a fish on fly as did Jim Barry, Dublin. Both fish tipped scales at 4lbs. Fly angler, Chris Aucoin, US, had a fish on fly during his visit as did Northern Ireland visitors Willy Darragh and Patsy Harkin, bringing the total to 7 fish for the week.

Conditions for flyfishing are still perfect at the moment with only one sluice gate open on the weir and with good numbers of fish still present in the river. Should such conditions prevail in the coming weeks prospects are still looking good for anglers to have some sport on the Fishery until the salmon season closes on 30th September.
