Angling Report
25th March from Laune Salmon and Trout
Anglers’ Association waters and Beat 3
.

As of Monday 25th March water now at just
over 2 feet on the gauge at Johnston’s and running clear.  The
Laune today is described as is beautiful condition and suitable for
all methods of angling. Tuesday 26th March,  beautiful water
now that it has fallen back from high water of a week ago.
River described as perfect for all methods
and what’s more salmon are running the river.  Fish
are being caught in the Flesk and the lakes so there has to be a
good  chance of a fish in the Laune also.

Last
week

Garry Fernane Tralee got the fishing in the Laune
off to an early start on Tuesday last.  Garry was ‘trying out’
a new 13 foot Redington rod.  As he fish Johnston’s Tom
Johnston’s and Heffernan’s he met four sea trout landed two of 1.5
lbs and lost one which he thought to be approaching 3 lbs and
another which was about 2lbs. As well as looking beautiful, there
are salmon running the Laune but you will have to be lucky and out
there to meet one. Permits for Laune Anglers up to
the end of July cost  only €25 per day.

Beat 3:

Beat 3
would be a one of the best fisheries to try for a running fish on
fly or spinning during Easter week.  The water level there is
perfect. Anglers please note: A ‘One Day’
salmon permit for Beat 3 only costs €25 probably the best value in
salmon fishing in the country with a good chance of a
fish.
