Sean Jordan of Bass Fishing Wexford reports that his first bass trip of the season was a successful outing. Though the morning was dull and misty he managed to catch his first bass of 2013. The fish fell to an intermediate plug fished very slowly.

After a quick photo the bass was released, none the worse for his experience.

While targeting the bass Sean also caught a couple of sea trout and sea anglers are advised to handle any sea trout inadvertently caught out of season or without a licence, with great care to assure their safe return to the sea.

Non of the fish caught were monsters, but they’d put a smile on any angler’s face on a dull January day
